System requirements and how to play
© NC Corporation. All Rights Reserved. The short answer
AION 2 is PC only in the West, and its published requirements hold one detail almost nobody quotes: on minimum specification, the official Steam page tells you to run the lowest graphics preset even at 1080p. The full requirements are on the store page, they are the publisher’s own, and they are the single most checkable fact about whether you can run this game — read alongside a storage figure of 100 GB, which is the number that catches people out.
Background
These figures come from the official Steam page for AION 2, read on 16 August 2026. Minimum: Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit), AMD Ryzen 5 2600 or Intel Core i5-10500, 8 GB of memory, an NVIDIA GTX 1050 Ti with 4 GB, DirectX 12, broadband, and 100 GB of storage. Recommended: the same operating system, an AMD Ryzen 7 3700X or Intel Core i7-11700, 16 GB of memory, an NVIDIA RTX 2070 with 8 GB, DirectX 12, and the same 100 GB. Both entries add: "SSD Recommended."
The part worth reading twice
The line worth reading twice is the additional note, because it is a performance statement disguised as a footnote. On minimum specification: "When using FHD resolution in-game, set the graphics preset to Very Low to ensure compatibility." On recommended specification, the same sentence appears with "Low" instead. In plain terms: 1080p on a GTX 1050 Ti is expected to need the lowest preset, and 1080p on an RTX 2070 the second-lowest. That is unusually candid from a publisher, and it is a better guide to real performance than the component list above it.
The mistake to avoid
The mistake is reading the recommended specification as "runs well at high settings". The publisher’s own note says otherwise: at 1080p on recommended hardware, it asks for the Low preset. So budget your expectations from the note, not from the graphics card. The second thing people miss is storage: 100 GB, on both tiers, and an SSD is recommended rather than required — on a mechanical drive expect loading to be the bottleneck. And a reminder that decides the question for some readers entirely: the Western release is PC only.
