What awaits Western players — nine months of Korean content

AION 2 "is set 200 years after the original title", and NCSOFT states the premise plainly: "Following the collapse of the Tower of Eternity, the Daevas, gradually losing their power, continue to wage war while struggling for survival under the oppression of Balaur." When it opens in the West on 30 September 2026, the game will have been running in Korea and Taiwan for over ten months — seventeen official announcements, a class rework, a ninth class, a level cap raised to 50, eighteen dungeons. What follows is that record, not a prediction.

The Korean service launched on 19 November 2025. Since then, on the public record: a launch-window patch on 3 December 2025 adding a PvP toggle; Season 2 from 21 January 2026 with new raids, trials and difficulty tiers; a 100-day update on 23 February 2026 adding Abyss of Chaos; the Sanctuary dungeon of 11 March 2026; the full class overhaul and Chaotic Abyss on 25 March 2026; new Transcendence content on 13 May 2026; the game’s hardest dungeon on 27 May 2026; and Chapter 1 on 6 July 2026, with the Brawler, level cap 50 and two new regions.

The honest way to use this record is as a menu of what exists, not a schedule of what you will get. Nine months of content exist and are documented on this site page by page, each with its date and an availability marker. The single most important unanswered question is which state the Western service starts from: NCSOFT has published no level cap, no dungeon list and no content state for 30 September 2026. The Brawler is the sharpest case — it exists in Korea since 6 July 2026, with its weapon and mechanics published, and nothing has been said about the West.

The mistake to avoid is the one every "what to expect" article makes: reading the Korean content list as the Western launch content. It may be all of it, some of it, or an earlier state entirely — the publisher has not said, and no amount of reasoning from the timing changes that. What is confirmed for the West: PC only, free to play, four server regions, ten in-game languages, early access on 30 September 2026 with Founders entering five days before the free launch. Everything else on this site marked Korea-only is exactly that: documented, dated, and not promised to you.
