What this class does

The Cleric is AION 2’s healer. NCSOFT’s official announcement of 4 June 2025 presents it as the healing class, "Now featuring improved damage capabilities" — a phrase worth noticing, because the word now says the publisher deliberately moved the class away from healing alone. In a group it is the class the run stops without; outside one, that added damage is what the publisher chose to give it. NCSOFT has not published which weapon it uses, so this page does not name one. All classes were reworked on 25 March 2026, the last balance change on record, and every claim here carries its date.

What changed, and when

Two dated statements shape this class. First, NCSOFT’s announcement of 4 June 2025 describes it as a healer "Now featuring improved damage capabilities" — the word now marks a deliberate change of direction by the publisher. Second, the rework of 25 March 2026 gave it a new Stigma skill, "Reincarnating Touch" (official NCSOFT announcement, same date). That announcement also applied to every class: "The maximum number of Stigma slots has also been expanded to five", "Immune and Immortal effects can no longer be applied consecutively within a 30-second window", the new Perfect Shield Block and Perfect Parry mechanics, and "PvP and PvE damage calculations have been separated, and balance adjustments have been made to reduce damage gaps between certain skills".

What matters for advanced play

The separation of PvP and PvE damage calculations on 25 March 2026 has a particular consequence for a healer whose damage the publisher describes as improved (official NCSOFT announcement, same date): output measured while clearing open-world content no longer tells you what the class contributes in a fight against players. The two defensive mechanics introduced the same day, Perfect Shield Block and Perfect Parry, and the restriction on applying Immune and Immortal effects consecutively within a 30-second window, both change what a group takes and therefore what a healer has to cover. Five Stigma slots widen the build, with "Reincarnating Touch" as the new option. Chaotic Abyss arrived the same day, with "players divided into West and East forces at the server level", while "Spacetime Rift will continue to operate under the current race-based matchmaking system".

The classic mistake

The classic mistake is picking the Cleric as an obligation rather than a choice — "someone has to heal" — and then resenting it. NCSOFT’s announcement of 4 June 2025 undercuts that framing: it presents the class as a healer "Now featuring improved damage capabilities", which is the publisher saying the class was not left as a pure healer. So pick the Cleric if you want to be the reason a group survives and still want to contribute damage while doing it. Do not pick it expecting to lead on damage — the same announcement gives the Gladiator "Powerful, wide-area skill attacks" and the Sorcerer "High burst magic damage" — and treat any comparison written before 25 March 2026 with care, since the consecutive use of Immune and Immortal effects was restricted and PvP and PvE damage calculations were separated that day, both of which change what healing has to cover. As on every class page here: NCSOFT has not announced what content opens at the Western launch of 30 September 2026.
