Character customisation
© NC Corporation. All Rights Reserved. How it works
Character creation in AION 2 is deep by the publisher’s own numbers. NCSOFT’s official announcement of 4 June 2025 says the tools "allow players to fine-tune over 200 adjustable features when creating their character". Two hundred is a figure from the publisher, not an estimate from a preview, which is worth stating because customisation counts are usually reported rather than confirmed. What the announcement does not say is whether appearance can be changed after creation, or at what cost — and this page does not answer what the source leaves open.
What changed, and when
Detailed character creation has been part of the AION series identity since the first game, and NCSOFT places it among the core content of the sequel: the announcement of 4 June 2025 states that players can "fine-tune over 200 adjustable features when creating their character". That sentence is the whole of the confirmed record. NCSOFT has not published the list of those features, nor whether they are distributed evenly across face, body and colour, nor whether the count differs between races or classes. This page reports the figure and its source, and leaves the breakdown unstated because no source supports one.
The detail that changes how you play
The only advanced consideration that can be grounded in the source is a planning one. The announcement of 4 June 2025 describes the two hundred adjustable features as available "when creating their character" — the publisher is describing the creation step, and has published nothing about editing an existing character afterwards. Whether an appearance change service exists, whether it is free, and whether it covers all two hundred features are all unanswered. Until NCSOFT says otherwise, the safe reading is that creation choices should be treated as decisions rather than drafts.
The common misconception
The widespread misconception about customisation depth is that a large number of sliders means a large number of meaningful outcomes. The confirmed fact is narrower: NCSOFT states "over 200 adjustable features when creating their character" (official announcement, 4 June 2025), and a feature count says nothing about how much visible difference each one makes. What this system costs is time at creation, and possibly money afterwards — NCSOFT has published nothing about appearance changes after creation, so budget for the decision being permanent until proven otherwise. And as on every page here: NCSOFT has not announced what content the Western launch of 30 September 2026 opens with.
