How it works

Battlefield: Siege is a competitive mode added to the Korean service on 6 July 2026, in the update NCSOFT titled "Chapter 1. Lands of Sand and Snow". The publisher describes it in one sentence: "Battlefield: Siege is a mode where players capture a total of three zones to earn points, with all teams starting under identical conditions." The second half is the part worth reading twice — identical starting conditions means the mode is built to be decided by play rather than by gear. It has not been announced for the Western release.

What changed, and when

This mode arrived on the Korean service with the update of 6 July 2026, "AION 2 Rolls Out Chapter 1. Lands of Sand and Snow" (official NCSOFT announcement, same date). It joins the game’s competitive content alongside Chaotic Abyss, which was introduced on 25 March 2026 and which divides "players into West and East forces at the server level, engaging in large-scale battles regardless of race alignment". Battlefield: Siege is described differently: a zone-capture mode with equalised starting conditions. NCSOFT has published no team size, no match length and no reward table for it, and this page invents none of them.

The detail that changes how you play

The one design fact that shapes advanced play is the equalisation. Because "all teams starting under identical conditions" (official NCSOFT announcement, 6 July 2026), progression and equipment are set aside inside this mode, which moves the advantage to coordination and to how three zones are prioritised. That is as far as the published record goes: NCSOFT has not stated how points accrue per zone, whether zones are worth the same, or how long a match runs. Guides that give you a rotation today are working from play, not from published rules, and this site marks that difference rather than hiding it.

04

The common misconception

Before anything else: this mode is not confirmed for the Western release. It was announced for the Korean service on 6 July 2026, and NCSOFT has published nothing about whether it will be present when the game launches in the West on 30 September 2026. Read what follows as a description of the Korean service as observed on that date. The misconception to avoid is treating Battlefield: Siege as a place where your character progression pays off — the publisher states that all teams start under identical conditions, which is a deliberate decision to remove that advantage. What it costs you is coordination rather than gear, and its schedule and rewards have not been published, so no time budget can honestly be given.
