Chalice of Muspel

Chalice of Muspel is, in NCSOFT’s own words, "the most challenging PvE dungeon in AION 2". It is Sanctuary content, released on the Korean service on 27 May 2026, and the publisher describes it as set "within an ancient temple submerged beneath lava deep inside the Muspel volcano", resurfaced after seismic activity. Its final boss is named Scourage Kaldrix, and the first players to clear it received an exclusive pet. It has not been announced for the Western release.

Chalice of Muspel arrived on the Korean service on 27 May 2026 (official NCSOFT announcement, same date), the second Sanctuary dungeon after Corroded Decontamination Facility of March 2026. The publisher’s framing is unusually direct — it calls this "the most challenging PvE dungeon in AION 2", a claim it has not made about any other content this site has been able to date. The same update added craftable Genesis and Nemesis Dragon Lord gear through Transfer Crafting, raised character stat caps, and introduced a Wings Enhance System.

What the source establishes is the reward structure at the top end, not the fight. Clearing the dungeon’s boss, Scourage Kaldrix, yields "the Lava Heart Weapon (Extend), Lava Heart Barrier, and Kaldrix Brooch" (official NCSOFT announcement, 27 May 2026), and the first clears carried an exclusive pet. Note what is missing and matters: NCSOFT published an entry item level for the Sanctuary dungeon of March 2026 — a minimum of 3,700 — and published none here. This page does not carry that figure across, because the publisher did not. No boss mechanics have been published either.

Before anything else: this dungeon is not confirmed for the Western release. It arrived on the Korean service on 27 May 2026, and NCSOFT has published nothing about its presence at the Western launch of 30 September 2026. The mistake to avoid is treating "most challenging PvE dungeon" as marketing. It is the publisher’s own phrase, in an official release, and it is the only content in the game it has described that way — so treat it as the ceiling rather than as another step. Where you will block cannot be stated from the published record: NCSOFT named the boss and the rewards, and published no mechanics and no entry requirement.
