What was announced

AION 2 has announced its initial global servers, so groups can coordinate before character creation. Two official Steam notices dated 29 September 2026 give the selection order: region, faction, then server. Each server hosts one faction. An Elyos server is paired with an Asmodian server for cross-faction activities, while each retains its own home. Server names repeat across regions, so share the full region, faction and server with your group. Keep that written selection handy at character creation, especially when the same name appears in several regional lists. These are announced arrangements; we have not connected to the game or checked live server availability.

Where it sits in the record

The list below reads Elyos first and Asmodian second. In the current Steam notice Advanced Access Server Matchmaking (nc_community, 29 September 2026, GID 1844751498232853), the regional pairings are: Europe — Siel–Israphel, Nezekan–Zikel, Vaizel–Triniel, Kaisinel–Lumiel, Yustiel–Marchutan, Ariel–Azphel, Fregion–Ereshkigal, Meslamtaeda–Beritra and Hithanya–Nemon; NA West — Siel–Israphel and Nezekan–Zikel; NA East — Siel–Israphel, Nezekan–Zikel and Vaizel–Triniel; Latin America — Siel–Israphel and Nezekan–Zikel; Asia — Siel–Israphel, Nezekan–Zikel and Vaizel–Triniel. The initial lineup appears in Advanced Access Servers (nc_community, 29 September 2026, GID 1844751498232854); Advanced Access: New Servers Opening! (NC_Quokka, 30 September 2026, GID 1845383656377843) announces later additions, including Europe’s Hithanya–Nemon for 2 October at 12:00 CEST / 03:00 PDT. This page has not verified that the scheduled addition became available. The matchmaking notice says pairings are temporary and may be changed periodically for faction balance, without giving a fixed interval. The new-servers notice gives conflicting minute values for the NA West addition’s PDT and CEST times, so its exact activation time remains unknown. These announcements establish published lineups and matchups, not live availability, population, capacity or successful logins.

What it actually changed

The original server notice of 29 September scheduled advanced access for 30 September 2026 at 13:00 UTC. That start time was superseded. On 30 September, the Steam notice by [NC] Fedal announced 13:30 UTC / 06:30 PDT, while keeping client decryption on its original schedule. The extended notice on the official NC portal then announced a further delay to 14:00 UTC / 07:00 PDT that same day. Use this later NC notice for the announced opening, rather than treating the older Steam time as final. In Europe/Zurich, the original 15:00 CEST became 15:30 CEST and then 16:00 CEST; CEST is UTC+02:00. Decrypting a downloaded client and entering a server are separate operations: the initial delay notice explicitly kept servers in maintenance despite decryption starting. Neither a published time nor the later server-addition announcement proves successful login or stable access. The original notice schedules the end of advanced access for 5 October at 05:00 UTC, then maintenance from 05:00 to 13:00 UTC and the global launch at 13:00 UTC that day. These correspond to maintenance from 07:00 to 15:00 CEST and launch at 15:00 CEST in Europe/Zurich. Maintenance times may change. Keep that interruption separate from launch when arranging a group session; the delay notices read here do not announce a revision of the 5 October schedule.

What to be careful with

For a group intending to stay together, settle region and faction before debating server names. Siel in Europe and Siel in NA East are different regional servers. Choosing both sides of Siel–Israphel selects opposing factions, not one home server for the whole group. The first opponent is a starting matchup, not a permanent identity: the publisher plans to change pairings. The 30 September Steam announcement New Servers Opening! says transfers will be available in the future and that instanced content, including dungeons, is cross-server. A separate Steam notice, Information on server transfer, published by [NC] Fedal on 30 September 2026 and reread on 1 October, announces transfers starting on 14 October, within the same faction. At introduction, early-access players may transfer only between early-access servers, not to the servers opening at the free launch. Transfers are announced as initially free; no end date for that free period is given. This is a future plan, not a transfer service verified as available today. A future transfer promise cannot guarantee that a later move will repair today’s group choices, and cross-server instances do not merge home servers or remove faction choices. None of these notices establishes population levels, spare capacity or measured latency. They cannot support a best-server ranking or prove that an announced server is currently accepting every login. Agree on the full regional selection with friends, distinguish the newest server list from the matchmaking table, and check later official notices for revised pairings or maintenance. This remains a coordination decision, not a reason to guess which opposing population is weakest.
