Chalice of Muspel added

On 27 May 2026, NCSOFT released what it calls, in its own words, "the most challenging PvE dungeon in AION 2" — Chalice of Muspel, a Sanctuary dungeon set inside a lava-submerged temple in the Muspel volcano. It is the only content in the game the publisher has described that way in any announcement this site has been able to date. The same update raised character stat caps and introduced a Wings Enhance System. It has not been announced for the Western release.

The release describes an ancient temple "submerged beneath lava deep inside the the Muspel volcano", resurfaced "following intense seismic activity", whose boss is Scourage Kaldrix. Clearing it yields "the Lava Heart Weapon (Extend), Lava Heart Barrier, and Kaldrix Brooch", and the first players to clear it received an exclusive pet. Alongside it: "New craftable gear including Genesis/Nemesis Dragon Lord Weapon added, available exclusively through Transfer Crafting", plus raised character stat caps and a new Wings Enhance System.

Two of the changes here are progression ceilings rather than content. Character stat caps were raised, and a Wings Enhance System was introduced — wings being the system the game’s own logo is built on. On gear, the Genesis and Nemesis Dragon Lord equipment is obtainable "exclusively through Transfer Crafting", the system NCSOFT introduced in January 2026 as "a new Transfer system for equipment progression". No entry item level has been published for this dungeon, unlike the Sanctuary dungeon of March 2026 at 3,700. This site does not carry that figure across.

Before anything else: this update applies to the Korean service, and NCSOFT has published nothing about its state at the Western launch of 30 September 2026. The phrase to take seriously is the publisher’s own: most challenging PvE dungeon in the game. It is not marketing copy from a preview, it is in the official release, and NCSOFT has not applied it to anything else. Treat Chalice of Muspel as the ceiling rather than as another step. And be careful with gear guides here: the Dragon Lord sets are craft-only through Transfer Crafting, not drops.
