No Oceania server at global launch

On 1 September 2026, Massively Overpowered published a report after asking NCsoft about service coverage for Australian players. It says the global service will have servers in North America, South America, Europe and Japan, with no Oceania server announced for the global launch. The article says the studio pointed readers in that region to the Taiwanese service, which supports English. The official NCSOFT release still establishes the global launch date as 5 October 2026; that date is a separate established fact.

The report is by Chris Neal and is dated 1 September 2026. It explains that the question came from the outlet’s podcast and that the outlet then asked NCsoft directly. The answer described in the article narrows the practical meaning of the four published global regions: the list names North America, South America, Europe and Japan, but it does not name Oceania. The article also records the studio’s suggested alternative for readers in that part of the world. This is a clarification of expected access, not a new launch announcement, and it does not replace the official regional announcement already held by this site. No later written NCSOFT source was found in this passage that adds an Oceania server.

For a reader in Australia or another Oceania territory, the useful warning is simple: do not read the four-region list as proof of a local server. The article reports that NCsoft pointed to the Taiwanese service and its English support, but it does not establish latency, account eligibility, legal availability, character transfer, server selection or service quality. It also does not prove that the arrangement can never change before 5 October 2026. Use the page to explain the current reported position, and keep the official NCSOFT pages for the date and the named regions. Until the article’s source is qualified, do not use it as the sole authority for a durable guide.

The common mistake this page prevents is turning a reported service answer into a confirmed infrastructure promise. The official NCSOFT announcement remains the authority for the four named regions and the 5 October date. Do not infer ping, matchmaking, account routing or future server additions from either text. If NCSOFT publishes a written Oceania decision, update this page with the new dated source and explain what changed.
